Party & Event Caricatures FAQ
What are caricatures?
Caricatures are playful, exaggerated portraits that highlight a person’s distinct features in a fun and humorous way. A talented caricature artist NH can quickly sketch a guest’s face, emphasizing key characteristics like facial expressions or unique traits. Typically drawn in black and white for simplicity and speed, they are perfect for large gatherings. Caricatures bring laughter and entertainment to any event while giving guests a unique keepsake to take home.
How much time do you need, or how many artists can I hire?
Each caricature artist NH can draw approximately 6-10 faces per hour, depending on the level of detail and event flow. For larger gatherings or events with many guests, we can provide up to four artists to ensure everyone has a chance to receive a personalized caricature. To determine the right setup, consider the number of guests and discuss your needs with our office when booking.
What do I need to provide for setup?
For each caricature artist NH, you’ll need to provide one table and three chairs—one for the artist and two for the guests being drawn. If the event is outdoors, a shaded area or tent is recommended to keep everyone comfortable. For indoor events, a climate-controlled space is ideal. This simple setup ensures a smooth process, allowing the artist to work efficiently while keeping guests at ease.
Do the guests get to keep the caricatures?
Absolutely! Each guest takes home their caricature as a special souvenir from the event. These fun, personalized drawings provide a unique way for guests to remember the occasion and are always a big hit.
Do you do them in color or with bodies?
We specialize in black-and-white facial caricatures to maximize efficiency and accommodate more guests during the event. Adding color or full-body illustrations requires significantly more time, so focusing on simplicity helps ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a caricature.
How many faces can you fit on one sheet of paper?
We typically fit 1-2 faces on a standard sheet of paper, but can accommodate up to 3 faces if needed. For larger groups or special requests, contact our office during booking, and we’ll arrange a custom solution to meet your needs.

Interview with Keara: MA Caricature Artist
1. How did you get into caricatures?
I’ve always been passionate about art, and after working professionally as a freelance illustrator, I wanted to find a way to make a more reliable income in the arts. In 2023, I started working with Kaleidoscope as a caricature artist in NH and my home state of MA, and I’ve loved it ever since. It’s been a great way to merge my artistic background with live entertainment, bringing joy to people at all kinds of events.
2. What makes a good caricature?
A good caricature captures more than just someone’s likeness—it captures their personality. It’s all about identifying those unique traits that make each person stand out and highlighting them in a fun way. The goal is for the person to look at the caricature and feel like it’s a reflection of who they are, not just how they look.
3. Do you ever “roast” people in caricatures?
No, I don’t “roast” people in my caricatures. While I do emphasize their most distinctive features, my goal is always to make them feel good about what makes them unique. I want people to smile and feel happy when they see their caricature, not self-conscious or embarrassed.
4. What kind of events are your favorites?
My favorite events are definitely corporate events and gatherings with adults. Adults tend to have more unique and distinct facial features, which makes the caricatures a lot more fun and interesting to draw. Plus, I love the conversations that happen during the drawing process at those types of events.
5. What’s your favorite part of being a caricature artist?
My favorite part of being a caricature artist NH is hands down the reactions I get when I turn the page around and show someone their drawing. That moment of surprise and excitement is what makes the job so rewarding. Seeing people laugh and enjoy the portrait is always the best part!
